Hyderabad: The govt has allotted a 10-acre land parcel to SBI in Meerkhanpet for its proposed data centre. The facility will come up in Bharat Future City. According to sources, seven acres have been allotted in lieu of disputed land at Raidurg, while SBI will pay for the remaining three acres. The allotment follows the resolution of a dispute between the state govt and the bank over nearly five acres of land in Raidurg.Officials in the chief minister’s office said several marquee investments have already been announced in the region, positioning BFC as one of the country’s emerging centres for AI and data centre infrastructure.Amazon Web Services (AWS) has already begun working on its flagship data centre project in BFC.On Sept 5, TCS subsidiary HyperVault signed an agreement with the Telangana govt to establish a 1 GW AI data centre campus in BFC at an investment of Rs 70,000 crore.Fortune Hospitality has also announced plans to develop a hyperscale AI data centre park on 170 acres in Kandukur of Rangareddy. The project involves an initial investment of Rs 60,000 crore.A 2 GW AI data centre promoted by CtrlS is already under construction in BFC, while officials are examining a proposal from UPC Volt for a 100 MW AI data centre. Connectivity is also expected to improve with the construction of the Ratan Tata greenfield road. “Work on greenfield radial road-1, a key access corridor to BFC, has gathered pace. The project is expected to make progress by the time the Invest Telangana Global Summit is held in Dec,” senior officials said.
