Hyderabad: With chief minister A Revanth Reddy likely to go to New Delhi in a day or two, the absence of endowments minister Konda Surekha’s photographs on official govt flex banners and posters during revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s district tour in Mahabubabad on Monday has sparked speculations that a stringent action may be taken against her by the AICC soon.On Monday, minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy along with panchayat raj minister Seethakka visited Mahabubabad to inaugurate an electrical substation in Kesamudram and hold review meetings on housing and revenue.However, the official event banners and posters completely omitted forest and environment minister Konda Surekha’s name and photo. The omission has deeply upset Konda Surekha’s supporters. Her supporters are viewing this as a deliberate snub, before the AICC may look into her issue.As per the tentative schedule of the CM, he is likely to attend the YS Rajasekhar Reddy award-2026 function in New Delhi on Sept 2.The speculation in Congress circles is that Surekha may either be asked to resign or could be dropped from the cabinet in a reshuffle. Likewise, Chinna Reddy may be asked to resign from the planning board vice chairperson post.“AICC general secretary KC Venugopal is returning from abroad. AICC in charge of Telangana will submit the disciplinary committee report against Surekha and Chinna Reddy to him. He may want to discuss the issue with the CM and deputy CM. TPCC president Mahesh Goud may also be called to New Delhi. In such a case, CM Revanth will stay back in the national capital after attending YSR-award function,” said a senior AICC leader.The TPCC disciplinary committee had submitted a report seeking stringent disciplinary action against Konda Surekha for not condemning the comments made by her daughter K Sushmitha against CM Revanth. Sushmitha had also claimed that she will contest from Parkal constituency whether the Congress gives her the ticket or not. The disciplinary committee had also taken into consideration past incidents involving Surekha, which had caused embarrassment to the party.
