Hyderabad: Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh on Friday hit out at chief minister A Revanth Reddy for strongly defending AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, questioning the CM’s remarks that their patriotism could not be questioned.Speaking at the inauguration of the Chanchalguda-Santoshnagar steel flyover on Thursday, Revanth said political ideologies could differ, but “when it comes to patriotism, we are all one”. He said the Owaisi brothers were no less patriotic than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah, referring to their support for the country during Operation Sindoor.Responding to the remarks, Singh said Revanth’s praise for the Owaisi brothers was surprising and urged him to consider their political history before describing them as patriots.Singh said political equations should not lead the govt to overlook ground-level issues in the Old City. He said the safety, dignity and rights of Hindus living in the Old City were equally important and urged Revanth to address their concerns.He said Telangana’s development was the result of the taxes and hard work of people from all communities, and that the govt should work in the interests of every citizen rather than seek to please any political party.Singh also asked Revanth to look beyond his political proximity to the Owaisi brothers and focus on issues faced by people in the Old City.
