Warangal: The Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGNPDCL) has secured two national-level awards in Bengaluru on Tuesday, recognising its adoption of advanced technologies, improved consumer services and excellence in operational performance.The company received the “Adopting AI in Energy Award” and the “South India PSU & Governance Excellence Award” for its efforts to make power distribution smarter, safer and more efficient through the extensive use of AI, drone technology and data analytics, besides its continued focus on consumer-centric services and operational excellence.The South India PSU & Governance Excellence Award was received on behalf of TGNPDCL by company secretary K Venkatesham in Bengaluru. The Adopting AI in Energy Award was received on behalf of the company by chief engineer Surender.TGNPDCL CMD Karnati Varun Reddy said the Adopting AI in Energy Award recognised the company’s innovative use of technology, particularly initiatives such as the AI-based Feeder Outage Prediction Model, drone-based electrical asset monitoring, Real-Time Feeder Management System, GIS-based monitoring, 24/7 AI-enabled WhatsApp chatbot, substation loading analytics and AI-based employee assistance systems.He said the South India PSU & Governance Excellence Award recognised TGNPDCL’s continued efforts to adopt technology and improve services for consumers.
