Muslim bouncers ‘boycotted’ at Dandiya events? Owaisi raises alarm, Raja Singh threatens shutdown | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: row broke out on Tuesday over allegations that Dandiya event organisers are “boycotting” Muslim bouncers, with AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi expressing concern over the issue and suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh questioning his stance.Owaisi said Muslim bouncers and other workers had reported that event organisers were allegedly boycotting them under pressure from “extremist organisations”.The people of Telangana must stand united across religions against the “evil”, Owaisi said, warning that otherwise the state’s progress and development would also become a victim.“This poison can be curbed if the police take strict action,” he said in a post on X.Owaisi was responding to media reports and social media posts claiming that organisers had declined to employ Muslim bouncers for Dandiya events.Raja Singh, an MLA suspended from the BJP, took exception to Owaisi’s support for Muslim bouncers and questioned who the AIMIM president was to decide whether Hindu or Muslim bouncers should be employed during Hindu festivals. In a video release, Singh claimed that Hindus are neither allowed entry nor offered work during Muslim festivals. He further alleged that ‘love jihad’ cases targeting Hindu girls have increased over the last several years at Dandiya events with the support of Muslim bouncers.Singh, the MLA from Goshamahal, appreciated Dandiya event organisers for their move to deploy Hindu bouncers and threatened to stop Dandiya events if non-Hindu bouncers are employed.(With PTI inputs)
