Hyderabad: Residents living around Muppas Road near Rajapushpa Provincia in Narsingi say an unfinished and uneven stretch of road has turned their daily commute into a struggle, with dust, loose gravel and waterlogging making movement difficult. The road, which sees a steady flow of two-wheelers, autos and cars, has large portions without a proper surface. With construction activity and loose soil along the stretch, vehicles raise clouds of dust as they pass, leaving commuters and pedestrians struggling to navigate the road.Residents said the problem worsens during rains. “The uneven portions of the road collect water and turn into muddy stretches. The absence of a proper, even road also makes it difficult for two-wheelers to maintain balance,” said Durgesh Singh, a pan shop owner near the road. “There is hardly any space for pedestrians. We have to walk on the same stretch where vehicles are coming from both sides, and it becomes really difficult when traffic increases in the evening,” said Suraj Prabhu, who frequently uses the road.Residents fear the situation could become significantly worse with more development and commercial activity planned along the road. “The road is already narrow and traffic is difficult to manage. If more commercial activity comes up here, the congestion will only increase unless the road is widened first,” said another resident.
“Road connectivity is another concern. The stretch currently ends in a dead end, leaving no proper connection towards Puppalguda and forcing vehicles to take congested routes. Better connectivity through an elevated bridge or flyover is a must,” says Oruganti Hari Prasad (50), a resident of Rajapushpa Provincia
The road is also used by pedestrians, with people forced to negotiate the rough edges and gravel while vehicles pass close by. Residents say the dust is particularly troublesome during peak traffic hours. An executive engineer from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s engineering wing said that “over the year, the area had seen infrastructure coming up and the roads were yet to be completely laid.” The official added that a team would be sent to inspect the situation and take up the work. Residents have urged the civic authorities to complete the pending road work and provide a proper surface so that the stretch remains usable even during the monsoon.
