HC orders Meta, X, Google to remove posts related to welfare schemes | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed Telangana DGP and social media platforms Meta, X (formerly Twitter) and Google LLC to delete the content posted by a social media handle, in connection with the ongoing petition on Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes. Justice NV Shravan Kumar further directed the platforms to not allow posting of any material (content) pertaining to the ongoing court proceedings in connection with the schemes, in the future.The judge passed the directions after advocate Vijay Gopal appearing in person contended that the handle has been sharing contemptuous and false information regarding the court proceedings and even accusing the chief minister A Revanth Reddy for derailing these schemes.“There are over 70 cases against this user; police have also made strenuous efforts to arrest him, but he has been operating from abroad and nobody knows who they are or their whereabouts,” Vijay Gopal contended. Claiming that hea has been receivig threats from unknown persons for arguing the case, he also sought police protection. Court will continue hearing on this aspect on Aug 20.
