Eric Weinstein asks why there’s raw hatred against Indians, Hindus; Sridhar Vembu says, ‘Until India develops…’

Eric Weinstein, an American mathematician, economist and former investment executive, said out loud what many on social media have been wondering about: why there is increasing hatred against India and Indians. Weinstein concluded that there is actually no reason and that sparked off a fresh debate on H-1B visa, Americans being deprived of jobs etc. “Seeing a lot of growing raw hatred against India, Indians, Hindus, Indian-Americans, etc. for no reason. Would be happy to have anyone who feels that hatred quietly unfollow me. Simple. Clean. Thanks in advance,” Weinstein posted on X and it went viral. Weinstein engaged with the debate and said that Indians were only the tool, and American employers used them to take jobs from Americans.MAGA instantly disowned Weinstein for his conclusion that there was no reason for the India hate and said Weinstein himself was at the forefront of the battle and now changed his stance to act docile.
Sridhar Vembu ‘s ‘build, build, build’ message stands out
Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu weighed in on the debate and said India will be respected only when Indians build more. “Until India develops, based on the talents of our own people, we will not find true respect in the world, no matter whether right, left or center is in charge anywhere,” Vembu wrote.Vembu said he does not hate those who question India’s development and he wants to respond to the by building.“The racist shows us a mirror and asks: “if your nation is smart, why do you want to come here”. I do not hate him, I want to respond by building. Some Indians agree with the racist and think India will never develop. I do not hate them either, I want to respond by building. Companies and nations are built by people who believe it can be done. The urgent national priority is to build, build and build,” Vembu said, inevitably drawing flak from social media users asking him why he didn’t build an original product and only copies Gmail.
