Hyderabad: BRS legislature party leader in the legislative council S Madhusudhana Chary on Sunday demanded that chief minister A Revanth Reddy apologise for the manner in which the council session was conducted, alleging that the Congress govt had no commitment to running the House properly. Madhusudhana Chary alleged that the govt convened the session mainly to meet its own requirements and showed little seriousness about discussing the implementation of its promises. He said the govt’s failures and lack of preparedness were exposed during the session.He alleged that the opposition was subjected to unprecedented restrictions, with a large number of police deployed outside the assembly and marshals positioned inside the House. He said such a deployment had not been seen even during the united Andhra Pradesh era. He alleged that opposition members were prevented from entering the House and claimed he too was stopped on the first day. Madhusudhana Chary further alleged that two BRS members were suspended without any discussion and that the process was completed through a voice vote within three minutes.He said the BRS submitted adjournment motions on all six days, but all of them were rejected. He alleged that 20 issues proposed by the opposition were also ignored and that no short discussion was held properly. He said the govt prioritised passage of bills over substantive debate.
