Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the inclusion of lakhs of acres of land in the prohibited list under Section 22-A, alleging that the move was causing hardship to property owners across Telangana. Addressing the media, KTR accused the Congress govt of including properties belonging to common people, including residential colonies, apartments and houses, in the prohibited list. He demanded that properties wrongly included in the list be removed immediately and that the govt issue an unconditional apology to the affected owners.KTR criticised the govt’s response to the issue in the assembly, saying the revenue minister had limited his response to an apology. “The mistake was committed by the govt, not the officials. The govt should take responsibility instead of shifting the blame,” he said. Defending the Dharani portal, KTR described it as a ‘protective shield’ for property owners, citing safeguards such as biometric authentication for property transfers. He alleged that under the present system, registrations were being carried out without the ’ knowledge of owners and properties were being added to the prohibited list.On the suspension of BRS members from the assembly, KTR said the govt was trying to silence the principal opposition and evade accountability. Demanding judicial inquiry into the Section 22-A issue, he said people were being made to suffer for the govt’s mistakes. He also criticised the police over an alleged attack involving staff at BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao’s residence and said the party would approach the courts for justice. KTR reiterated that the BRS would return to power in two years and vowed to expose alleged irregularities committed by the govt.
