Hyderabad: As many as 300 companies with more than 27,000 jobs are expected to participate in the mega job mela to be organised at Kodad on Sept 19, irrigation and civil Supplies minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said on Sunday. The recruitment drive will be open to educated unemployed youth from Suryapet, Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhongir, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. Candidates can register online and attend interviews with five copies of their résumé or biodata.Reviewing the arrangements for the mega recruitment drive at Kodad, Uttam said the initiative was intended to create a direct interface between rural educated youth and leading employers. “Nearly 300 companies are coming with a combined requirement of about 27,000 employees. Even if we are able to fulfil 15% of this requirement and secure jobs for about 4,000 young people, it will be a major achievement and a matter of immense satisfaction,” he said. The minister recalled that a similar job mela organised at Huzurnagar in Oct 2025 had received an overwhelming response. “More than 40,000 unemployed youth registered online, about 20,000 to 21,000 candidates physically attended interviews, and around 3,000 to 3,500 youth secured employment opportunities,” he said. Drawing lessons from that experience, elaborate arrangements are being made at Kodad to handle a turnout of up to 40,000 candidates. To prevent overcrowding, the recruitment process is proposed to run from 9 am to 9 pm, with candidates allotted different time slots through the online registration system, he said.Uttam directed officials to provide separate interview facilities for participating companies, help desks at the entrance, an effective public-address system, adequate parking, food arrangements and smooth pedestrian movement within the venue. Successful candidates would be presented with offer letters at the venue itself in different sessions during the day. He said Telangana assembly speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, industries minister D Sridhar Babu and district in charge minister Adluri Laxman Kumar were invited to participate in the programme and present offer letters to selected candidates.
