Meine zindagi mein nahi socha tha ki mein Rajesh Khanna ki beti se shaadi karunga. Kabhi bhi nahi socha tha (I never imagined that I would marry Rajesh Khanna’s daughter). Mein unke office mein jaya karta tha apni photo le ke ki mujhe koi kaam de do. Woh bolte they theek hai baad mein aana abhi film bana raha hun (I used to go to his office with my photograph, asking for work. He used to tell me to come later).”

He eventually became Rajesh Khanna’s son-in-law

I learned what not to do. That’s actually the truth.” Akshay Kumar also recalled how openly Rajesh Khanna discussed his own career with him. According to the actor, his father-in-law spoke about the mistakes he had made during his extraordinary journey. “He honestly sat down with me and used to tell me about the mistakes he had made. He was the number one superstar; India has seen that.”

Akshay Kumar’s association with Rajesh Khanna began even before they became relatives. The actor has recalled seeing the superstar’s influence during his childhood. Akshay Kumar remembered waiting outside the bungalow for an opportunity to see Rajesh Khanna. Years later, his own life brought him much closer to the same star. Rajesh Khanna died on July 18, 2012, at the age of 69. He passed away at his Mumbai residence, Aashirwad, after reportedly battling cancer.Akshay Kumar remains active across multiple genres and continues to headline major Hindi film projects.
