Sasi clarifies why ‘Nooru Kodi Vaanavil’ did not release in theatres

During a recent interaction with Behindwoods, both Sasi and Harish Kalyan were asked why the film was not released in theatres despite its promising trailer. Responding to the question, director Sasi clarified that the decision had nothing to do with the creative aspects of the film. He said, “For some reasons, which we could not say or avoid, there was no creative side to it. From the production side, they felt that bringing the film directly to OTT would give us better results. So, we were happy that the film was released.” His statement made it clear that the decision was taken entirely by the production team.

Harish Kalyan says it was painful to wait for the film’s release

Harish Kalyan also shared his feelings about the film finally reaching viewers, although it missed a theatrical release. Comparing a film to a child, the actor explained how difficult it was to wait for it to reach audiences. He said, “A film is like a child. There is a pain when it does not reach anyone. That is very difficult. But we do not have the mindset that the film must only reach audiences in theatres. It has reached an OTT platform, and many people are watching it. So, we are happy that our product has finally been released.” Sasi, however, described his feelings as relief rather than happiness, adding, “We cannot say we are happy. We can say it is a relief. What you say about the film after watching it will make us happy.”
