Hyderabad: A 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed by two of his friends at Rajendranagar on Thursday evening, with police suspecting the murder was triggered by personal enmity linked to alleged ganja-related activities.The victim, Mohammed Naseeruddin Ahmed, a glass-cutting worker residing at Happy Homes Towers in Upparapally, sustained critical injuries after being attacked near Pillar No. 185 of the PVNR Expressway.According to police, the accused, identified as brothers Ilyas and Shoaib of Fort View Colony in Upparapally, confronted Naseeruddin around 5.30 pm. An argument reportedly broke out between them before the duo stabbed him twice in the chest and fled the scene.“Locals alerted Naseeruddin’s family and he was shifted to a nearby hospital in Attapur. While undergoing treatment, the victim succumbed to injuries,” Rajendranagar DCP S Sreenivas said.Police shifted the body to the mortuary for postmortem examination and registered a case. Preliminary investigations suggest the accused suspected Naseeruddin of passing information about their alleged ganja sale activities to the police.“During the preliminary probe, police found out that the accused suspected that the victim was leaking their ganja sales-related information to the police and decided to kill him. Our teams launched a manhunt to nab the accused,” Rajendranagar ACP T Srinivas said.Special police teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend the accused, who remain absconding.
