Man beaten to death by group in Manuguru | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old interior designer was allegedly beaten to death by a group of nearly 30 youngsters at Manuguru in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Thursday, after he intervened in a dispute involving one of his workers.The deceased, Simhadri Shiva, a native of Bombay Colony in Manuguru, had returned to his hometown on Wednesday for Raksha Bandhan festival. Police said Shiva ran an interior designing business in Hyderabad.

According to Manuguru inspector P Naga Babu, the sister of Shiva’s helper Satish had been allegedly facing harassment from a group of local youngsters. Shiva had intervened in the matter earlier and warned them several times.On Thursday, members of the group, locally referred to as the “MK gang”, allegedly called Shiva to a ground in Manuguru on the pretext of discussing the issue and resolving the dispute. Shiva went to the spot, where an argument broke out between the two sides.Police said Shiva was then allegedly attacked by a group of around 20 to 30 youngsters with their hands. He suffered severe injuries to his ribs and lungs and collapsed on the spot. He was declared dead.The incident triggered tension in the town, with Shiva’s family alleging that the attack was carried out by members of the MK gang. Police have officially confirmed the gang’s involvement and are investigating the exact circumstances leading to the assault.Inspector Naga Babu said police had registered a murder case and identified some of the accused. However, police have not disclosed their identities, citing the ongoing investigation and the possibility that they could flee if their names were made public.Investigators are identifying all those who participated in the attack. Statements of witnesses and the postmortem report are expected to help establish the precise cause of death and the sequence of events.
