Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the proposed Indiramma Bima scheme, which will provide ₹5 lakh worth of free insurance coverage to every family in the state, would be launched on Nov 19. Addressing a meeting of party booth-level agents (BLAs) in Chintakani mandal of the erstwhile Khammam district, the deputy CM said the Congress govt was working with public welfare as its primary objective.“Nearly 1.06 crore families across the state are being provided six kg of fine rice per month free of cost, which is an exemplary Telangana model for the country. Women have received some financial relief through the free bus travel scheme, while zero interest loans have been revived for women members of SHGs. Under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, free electricity is being provided for consumption of up to 200 units. In villages, around 80 to 90% of households are benefiting from quality electricity without having to pay electricity bills,” Bhatti said.For the treatment of poor people, the Rajiv Aarogyasri health insurance coverage has been increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. In the education sector, the govt has cleared the fee reimbursement arrears left pending by the previous govt and introduced a new system under which the amount is deposited directly into students’ bank accounts, he said. Bhatti stated that nearly 27 lakh students in govt schools were being provided free hot breakfast, milk and ragi porridge. He also said that Young India Integrated Residential Schools were being constructed on 25 acres in every assembly constituency, with international standards.The deputy CM further stated that the govt was implementing farmers’ loan waiver while providing ₹12,000 per acre as investment assistance. Bhatti called upon BLAs to take the govt’s welfare and development programmes to every household and help strengthen the image of ‘Praja Palana’. “The BLAs, who take the Congress party’s ideology and the govt’s welfare programmes to the people, are the true pillars of the party. Both the party and the govt would always stand by them,” he assured.During his visit to the Madhira assembly constituency, Bhatti set aside the protocol and spent time among the people. He stopped his convoy at Neel Kamal tea stall in the Mudigonda centre, sat alongside people, had a cup of tea and interacted with them. Some residents brought to his notice that they had lost their houses due to the road-widening works. Responding to them, the deputy CM assured them of all support from the govt.
