Hyderabad: Assuring investors of policy stability and direct govt support, chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday made a strong pitch for Telangana as India’s next major investment destination, urging businesses to double their planned investments in the state and promising to personally safeguard and facilitate every investment.Addressing industry leaders at the curtain-raiser for the Invest Telangana Global Summit-2026 in New Delhi, Revanth projected Telangana as a key driver of India’s growth story and sought to dispel concerns over Centre-state relations, stressing that both govts were working together to accelerate Telangana’s development. In a direct appeal to investors, the chief minister said Telangana was prepared to provide all policy and administrative support required for expansion and growth.“Tell me what you need from the govt, whether it is policy decisions or administrative support, I will take responsibility for providing the necessary assistance,” Revanth said, assuring investors that he would act as a custodian of their investments. He urged businesses to assess their proposed investments in Telangana and then double them, while also aiming for higher growth and profit targets.Positioning Telangana’s growth ambitions within the broader national framework, Revanth said the state’s ‘Telangana Rising 2047‘ vision was closely aligned with the Centre’s Viksit Bharat 2047 roadmap. While Telangana currently contributes around 5% to India’s GDP, he said the state aims to raise its share to 10% by 2047.The chief minister reiterated the govt’s ambitious targets of transforming Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, saying rapid industrialisation, infrastructure expansion and technology-led growth would be key drivers. He credited Hyderabad’s emergence as a global business hub to the collective efforts of successive governments over the last three decades, noting that administrations led by different political parties since 1991 had continued to support the city’s growth despite ideological differences.Addressing apprehensions about political alignment between the state and the Centre, Revanth pointed to several major infrastructure initiatives being taken up with central support. These include the proposed high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune, plans for new airports at Warangal and Adilabad, Regional Ring Road, metro rail expansion and the proposed Navy radar centre. He said Telangana’s approach was to act as a facilitator of business rather than an obstacle. The govt’s role, he said, was to remove bottlenecks, simplify procedures, and create a business-friendly ecosystem instead of burdening investors with unnecessary intervention.“Hyderabad should not merely compete with Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or Bengaluru. It should compete with global cities such as New York, London, Tokyo, Seoul and Dubai,” he said.Inviting industry leaders to become stakeholders in Telangana’s growth story, Revanth urged them to share ideas and policy suggestions that could accelerate development and attract greater investments. “Telangana is rising. Become partners in this growth journey. Let us grow together and create history,” he said.Centre backs T’s ambitionsUnion commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal endorsed Telangana’s growth vision and assured the state of the Centre’s support in achieving its economic goals.Welcoming the state’s ambition of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047, Goyal said Telangana’s progress would make a significant contribution to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation.Describing the investment summit as another “festival” amid the festive season, he called for collective efforts by states, industries and entrepreneurs to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.The Union minister said Hyderabad had emerged as a leading destination for global capability centre, artificial intelligence and life sciences, while Telangana had built strong capabilities in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. He identified aerospace, defence and quantum computing as sectors with major growth potential.Highlighting the state’s agricultural strengths, Goyal noted that GI-tagged Tandur red gram had already reached international markets and said products such as Nizamabad turmeric also held significant export potential.“Every investment and every job will contribute to Telangana’s development and the realisation of Viksit Bharat,” Goyal said, assuring investors that the Centre would remain a partner in Telangana’s growth journey.
