21-year-old woman murdered in Shaheen Nagar; live-in partner suspected | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner at Bismillah Colony in Shaheen Nagar late on Sunday night.Balapur police said that by the time they reached the spot, the victim’s body had been stuffed in a gunny bag. The victim was identified as Rehana Begum, a native of Bihar. Police suspect the involvement of her missing partner, Ahmed Salam. They reportedly took three persons into custody, including two who allegedly assisted Salam.The couple had been staying in the same house for the last few months. For the past few days, they had been arguing over the issue of getting married. Police suspect that the couple might have argued over the same issue, after which Ahmed attacked her with a knife.The murder took place in the bedroom, where police also found bloodstains on the floor. “The body was found inside a gunny bag, ready to be disposed of,” assistant commissioner of police DV Pradeep Kumar Reddy said.Both Rehana and Ahmed were working at a local function hall. The police registered a case of murder under Section 103 of the BNS.Upon learning about the murder, senior local zonal police officials reached the spot. Police said they received information about the murder through a call made to Dial-100 by an unidentified person.
