Woman found murdered, newborn missing in Narayanpet district | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman was found murdered near Jaklair village in Narayanpet district on Thursday, while her newborn son could not be traced.The deceased was identified as K Yashoda, a resident of Gudigandla village in Makthal mandal. Her body was found near a culvert on the road between Bondalakunta and Jaklair by farmers heading to their fields on Thursday morning. They alerted the police, who reached the spot and began an investigation.Police said Yashoda had suffered a fatal head injury and suspect that she may have been attacked with a boulder. The body was shifted to the Makthal mortuary for postmortem. Police are yet to establish when exactly the murder took place and are examining the circumstances at the scene as part of the investigation.Yashoda’s husband Lakshman, who works as an autorickshaw driver, is being questioned by police. Her family members have expressed suspicion about his involvement.Yashoda’s brother Kashinath told police that the couple had been having disputes for some time and suspected that Lakshman could be behind her killing. Based on his complaint, police registered a murder case.Yashoda had recently delivered a baby boy. The newborn, however, could not be traced after her death. Police are trying to ascertain when and where the infant was last seen and who was taking care of the baby.“A murder case has been registered. Yashoda’s husband Lakshman is being questioned. We have no clue about the infant yet and are investigating the case,” CI Ramlal said.According to police, the couple had gone out for their routine work on Wednesday. Yashoda was later found dead near Jaklair. Police are now examining the sequence of events between the time she left home and the discovery of her body, besides trying to establish the whereabouts of her newborn son.The postmortem report and further questioning of family members and others are expected to provide more details about the circumstances and timing of the murder, CI said.
