'Want to sow confusion': BJP targets Rahul Gandhi ahead of INDIA bloc's 'Delhi Chalo' march

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday launched a scathing attack on Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of trying to spread anarchy on the streets and undermining India’s democratic traditions.Addressing a press conference, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi termed the Congress leader a “Dimagi Naxal” and questioned his conduct.“The Naxalites on the ground may be eliminated, but the ‘Dimagi Naxals’ are there in Delhi. Consider the conduct displayed by the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi. Whether in the history of India or anywhere else in the world where conditions of anarchy prevail, you will invariably find such figures stirring up chaos,” Trivedi said.“In India, however, we see a peculiar situation: the leader of the opposition is seen entering the Akashvani Bhawan, lying down on the road in front of the Prime Minister’s residence, or marching towards the Supreme Court. Statements are made suggesting that matters will no longer be settled in Parliament, but on the streets – that they will be decided not through discussion, but through resistance,” he added. The BJP’s Rajya Sabha member also targeted the opposition and said that its true intent was rooted in a mindset characterised by a desire for plunder after attaining power.“Their (opposition) true intent – as articulated by the Prime Minister – is rooted in a mindset characterised by a desire for plunder upon attaining power, the sowing of division within society, and a deep-seated hatred for India’s religious and cultural ethos.“We want to draw your attention to the fact that, over the last ten to twelve years, there is hardly any institution or system in India regarding which they have not attempted to sow confusion. Why is the Congress party holding a rally on November 1? The area in Delhi where they are planning this event is a major hub for trade and commerce for all of North India – especially during this festive season, which spans from Navratri through Diwali and Chhath Puja,” Trivedi said.
