Yash starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ continued its second-week theatrical run with another drop in collections. The Geetu Mohandas directorial earned an India net of Rs 4.25 Cr on its ninth day, according to Sacnilk. The collection was recorded across 10,863 shows.The latest figure marks a 22.0% decline compared with the Rs 5.45 Cr collected on Day 8. Despite the drop, ‘Toxic’ has maintained a substantial theatrical total after completing more than a week in cinemas.
‘Toxic’ India collection reaches Rs 239.30 Cr
With the Day 9 earnings added to its total, ‘Toxic’ has collected Rs 239.30 Cr in India net. The film’s India gross collection has reached Rs 285.70 Cr so far.The movie had collected Rs 5.45 Cr on its second Wednesday. Its Day 9 performance indicates that the box office momentum has slowed further during the second week. The film’s current India total continues to be driven mainly by its Hindi and Kannada versions.
Overseas earnings push worldwide total to Rs 328.45 Cr
‘Toxic’ also added Rs 1.00 Cr from overseas markets on Day 9. This takes the movie’s overseas gross collection to Rs 42.75 Cr. Combining its India gross and overseas earnings, the film has now reached a worldwide gross of Rs 328.45 Cr.The Hindi release delivered the highest collection on Day 9. It earned Rs 2.85 Cr from 8,322 shows and recorded an overall occupancy of 13.33%.The Kannada version followed with Rs 1.04 Cr from 996 shows. It recorded the highest overall occupancy among the listed language versions at 20.12%.The Tamil version collected Rs 15 lakhs from 824 shows. It registered an overall occupancy of 16.95%. Meanwhile, the Telugu version earned Rs 20 lakhs from 683 shows and recorded 10.86% occupancy. The Malayalam version contributed Rs 1 lakh from 38 shows, with an overall occupancy of 13.8%.
‘Toxic’ sees stronger night occupancy
The occupancy pattern varied across the language versions throughout Day 9. The Hindi version recorded its highest occupancy during night shows at 18.62%. Its morning occupancy stood at 8.54%, while afternoon and evening shows recorded 12.23% and 12.77%, respectively.The Kannada version performed strongest during afternoon shows. It registered 23.38% occupancy during the afternoon, followed by 20.77% at night. Morning shows recorded 14.23% occupancy. Tamil screenings recorded 17.18% occupancy at night. Morning shows stood at 11.00%, while afternoon and evening shows recorded 10.82% and 9.18%.The Telugu version recorded 10.55% occupancy in the morning and 10.45% in the afternoon.
