Telangana proposes four industrial parks under Centre’s Bhavya scheme | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The Telangana govt has proposed an IT park at Madaram village in Ghatkesar, in the eastern part of the city, apart from other industrial parks exclusively for semiconductors, hardware and engineering machinery at other locations. According to official sources, the new IT park is being proposed by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) as part of the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (Bhavya) scheme. At present, there are some IT campuses at Pocharam near Ghatkesar, and the Telangana govt wants to decentralise IT parks around the Greater Hyderabad region.Apart from Madaram, the TGIIC has proposed a semiconductor park at Thimmapur in Kandukur mandal, a hardware park at Eliminedu in Ibrahimpatnam and an engineering machinery park at Dandu Malkapur in Choutuppal mandal. Of these four locations, both Madaram and Thimmapur are close to the Outer Ring Road (ORR), Eliminedu is part of the Bharat Future City, and Dandu Malkapur is located abutting the Vijayawada national highway.“These are only the Telangana govt’s proposal for phase I. The Centre has to take a call on approving the locations and sectors for setting up industries, as the central govt is funding the parks as part of the national scheme across the country. If the Centre insists on manufacturing units, the plans have to be changed for Madaram park,” a senior official of TGIIC said.According to officials, the Bhavya scheme is being implemented by the Centre to generate employment opportunities on the outskirts of metro cities. The scheme aims to establish 100 industrial parks across the country, with each park spread over an area of 100 to 1,000 acres. About Rs 33,600 crore has been earmarked for the scheme, which will be released over six years from 2026 to 2032. The Telangana govt is proposing these four industrial parks, each spread in over 500 acres, and land is ready at all four locations.Under the scheme, the Centre will provide a maximum of Rs 1 crore per acre as an equity contribution or the actual land value, while the state govt will provide state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure and facilities at the industrial parks. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) will be formed to oversee the activities. Later, the land will be allocated to relevant industries and multinational companies. To tap funds from the central scheme, the TGIIC, a few days ago, issued an expression of interest (EOI) and a request for quotation for the empanelment of registered valuers to assess the land value of project sites for the development of industrial parks under the Bhavya scheme. The Telangana govt has already submitted a proposal for phase I of Bhavya and is preparing to draw up DPRs for the phase II.
