Telangana pledges support to promote Telugu culture in Mauritius | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said the Telangana govt would extend all possible support to promote the Telugu language, culture, and heritage in Mauritius. “Telangana has a special connection with Mauritius through the Telugu language, culture, and traditions. The Telugu community in Mauritius is an important part of the country’s rich and multicultural society. The Telangana govt would extend all possible support to take forward the Ram Bhajanam programme being undertaken by the Mauritius govt. The state govt would also provide support in the areas of education, cultural research, arts, language, and cultural development,” Bhatti said.During a meeting with a delegation led by Mauritius minister for public service and administrative services Lachmuna Raj Pentiah at the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan, the deputy CM said Telangana and Mauritius share close and cordial relations for a long time. He recalled the common historical and cultural heritage between the two countries and the strong bonds of friendship between their people.The Mauritius minister said lakhs of Telugu people living in Mauritius are preserving and promoting their language, culture, and traditions through the Telugu Cultural Centre in the country. The Mauritius delegation expressed their special gratitude to the Telangana govt for its commitment towards the Telugu community across the world and for its efforts to promote the Telugu language and culture globally, the deputy CM’s office said.
