Telangana lags in covering villages under digital crop survey: Study | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Telangana has achieved 100% district coverage under Digital Crop Survey for 2025-26, but only 78% of villages have been covered, according to data presented at a South regional agriculture conference here on Friday.Tamil Nadu has covered 99% of its villages under survey, followed by Karnataka at 97%. Andhra Pradesh has covered 86% of villages and Andaman and Nicobar Islands 84%. Kerala has covered 36%. Puducherry and Lakshadweep have recorded zero coverage.Telangana’s district-level coverage is at 100%, the same as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala.Separately, Telangana has georeferenced 9,786 of its 10,887 village maps, putting map georeferencing at 90%.Tamil Nadu has completed georeferencing of all 17,164 village maps, while Karnataka has completed 30,121 of 30,348 maps, or 99%. Andhra Pradesh has completed 15,217 of 17,453 maps, or 87%, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands 176 of 204 maps, or 86%.Kerala has completed georeferencing of 914 of its 1,666 village maps, or 54%. Puducherry and Lakshadweep have not completed georeferencing of any village maps, according to the presentation.The two sets of data measure different aspects of agricultural digitisation, with one tracking georeferencing of village maps and another tracking coverage under Digital Crop Survey.
