Hyderabad: Telangana high court on Wednesday allowed owners of three acres of land located at Nanakramguda adjacent to the US Consulate General office at Hyderabad to erect tin sheets around the land without disturbing US Consulate General office and without raising any compound wall or undertaking any construction activity on the property.A division bench comprising Justices K Lakshman and Anil Kumar Jukanti passed the direction while hearing a contempt case filed by the petitioners, alleging violation of court orders by TGIIC in demolishing a compound wall at the site despite the matter having been finalised even in Supreme Court, and also Gachibowli police harassing them by registering false cases against them.Ranga Reddy district collector C Narayana Reddy, special deputy collector Kanduri Chandra Reddy, former Gachibowli SHO and a sub-inspector appeared physically before the court as per its earlier directions, while TGIIC vice-chairman K Shashanka appeared virtually.According to the petitioners, the high court had earlier set aside the land acquisition proceedings relating to the property and the Supreme Court subsequently upheld the high court’s decision. A criminal trespass case is pending against the petitioners at Gachibowli.Despite being aware of the court orders, TGIIC officials attempted to enter the land, the petitioners said. They further alleged that Kavitha Reddy, zonal manager, TGIIC, Nanakramguda, along with Mohd Habibuullah Khan and SI S Aksheeta, then posted at Gachibowli PS, arrived at the property in Oct 2025 along with workers and an earthmover and demolished a newly constructed compound wall and removed fencing erected by the petitioners around the land.The petitioners further alleged to have received threatening calls from Gachibowli police officials, threatening them with dire consequences if they continued the contempt cases. “There are big names behind this overall exercise to dispossess the petitioners from the land. Furthermore, TGIIC also deployed private security guards on the site,” their counsel added.During Wednesday’s hearing, the bench directed the officials not to enter the subject land and adjourned the matter to Oct 8 for further hearing.
