Hyderabad: Amid her removal from chief minister A Revanth Reddy’s cabinet, former minister Konda Surekha on Thursday released a six-page representation she had submitted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Aug 23, alleging that her authority as a minister had been curtailed and that she and her family were being politically targeted.In the representation, Surekha sought Rahul’s intervention and an impartial inquiry into what she described as political and administrative suppression under Revanth’s leadership. She alleged that key decisions concerning the Forest, Environment and Endowments departments were taken without informing or consulting her, including through direct instructions from the CM’s office.Surekha cited several instances to support her allegations, including being excluded from decisions relating to the constitution of the Yadadri Temple Trust Board and the transfer of funds sanctioned for development works at the Sammakka-Saralamma temple to the Roads and Buildings Department without her consultation.She also complained that her photograph was omitted from govt advertisements issued for Sri Rama Navami and alleged that her former OSD, Sumanth, was removed without informing her. She further alleged that police later visited her residence in connection with a case involving him.Referring to her constituency, Warangal East, Surekha alleged that development works were not being prioritised despite funds being sanctioned for neighbouring constituencies. She cited delays in projects, including the Warangal smart city model bus stand and the Bondhi Vagu expansion works.She also alleged that Wanaparthy MLA Kadiyam Srihari conducted a review meeting with Endowments Department officials without informing her. She questioned who was directing and coordinating such actions despite her objections having been brought to the notice of the party leadership.Surekha further alleged unequal political treatment, citing Revanth’s statements on Jagga’s candidature and his appeal at a Parkal meeting seeking a massive majority for Revuri Prakash Reddy. She said such contrasting approaches had raised questions over whether equal political standards were being applied within the Congress.A major part of her representation dealt with the show-cause notice issued to her over remarks made by her daughter, Konda Sushmitha Patel. Surekha questioned the decision to hold a minister responsible for statements made by an adult family member and alleged that she was being selectively targeted because she was a BC woman leader.She also alleged a coordinated political attack against her family in Warangal and said several leaders and public representatives were attempting to isolate the Konda family with the alleged support of Revanth Reddy.In her letter, Surekha said she was not seeking to publicly expose internal Congress matters but wanted the party’s top leadership to ascertain the facts and provide justice. She said the developments had caused her considerable mental anguish, but maintained that her faith in the Congress and its national leadership remained unwavering.She requested an impartial and comprehensive inquiry and enclosed a pen drive containing videos and other supporting material.
