PDP president Mehbooba says she is ‘dimagi Naxal’; NC blames her for Article 370 abrogation | India News
SRINAGAR: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s X post calling herself a “dimagi Naxal”, citing her support for Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to Jammu & Kashmir, prompted a jibe from governing NC, which blamed PDP-BJP coalition govt for its abrogation.“I support Article 370. I’m a dimagi Naxal,” Mehbooba wrote on X in response to a post by Union minister Kiren Rijiju, who stated that PM Narendra Modi’s “dimagi Naxal” remark in his Independence Day speech was not a reference to opposition members.

“Only the following are dimagi Naxals: 1. Who support Maoists and reject the Indian Constitution. 2. Who stand with separatists and support Article 370. 4. Who want to cut the chicken neck to separate the Northeast from India,” Rijiju said.Reacting to Mehbooba’s post, NC spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said Article 370 was still part of the Constitution and his party would continue fighting for its restoration. However, “mixing Article 370 with ‘dimagi Naxal’ is a disservice to the Constitution”, he added.NC legislator Tanvir Sadiq said PDP was responsible for the abrogation of Article 370, as its alliance with BJP in 2015 led to the events of Aug 5, 2019.
