Man rushes unconscious friend to hospital in Hyderabad, flees after doctors declare her dead | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman who checked into a hotel in Madhapur with her male friend on Monday afternoon was found unconscious by hotel staff on Tuesday morning, and was subsequently declared brought dead by doctors after she was rushed to a nearby private hospital.The male friend with whom the woman checked into fled from the hospital after doctors declared the woman brought dead.Police identified the woman as Sharon Nikita Topno, a native of Visakhapatnam. She had checked into Room no 304 at a hotel on Road No 5 in Siddiqui Nagar, Madhapur at around 2 pm on Monday with her male friend, who has been identified as Srinivasa Ravi Teja.On Tuesday morning, Ravi Teja alerted the hotel staff that Sharon was unconscious. With their support, Ravi Teja shifted the woman to a private hospital in Kothaguda. “Sharon was declared brought dead at the hospital. After she was declared dead, Teja, also a native of Visakhapatnam, fled from the hospital,” Madhapur inspector KV Subba Rao said.Hospital staff immediately alerted the police. “On examination, small injuries were noticed on the face of the deceased. An empty liquor bottle was found in the room. A CLUES team visited the hotel room and collected forensic evidence from the crime scene. The cause of death can only be ascertained after the post-mortem,” Madhapur ACP Ch Sreedhar said.‘Man’s phone switched off’Police said that they are yet to find out where the victim worked or stayed in Hyderabad. “Even her family is not certain of her workplace or place of stay. We’re trying to locate Ravi Teja to know what transpired in the room. He has switched off his mobile phone, and special teams have been deployed to trace him,” the inspector said.On a complaint lodged by a friend of the victim, police registered a case under section 103 (1) (murder) of the BNS.
