Man accused of killing pregnant YouTuber wife hacked to death on busy Nizamabad street | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: About six months after he was arrested for allegedly killing his pregnant wife, who was also a YouTuber, Chithari Haribabu was hacked to death by a group of unidentified men at Rajarajendra (RR) Centre in Nizamabad on Thursday. He had been out on bail for the past two months.According to B Prasad, ACP, Nizamabad, 26-year-old Haribabu was intercepted by a group of men in a car near Rajarajendra Chowrasta at around 5pm.“Three to four people arrived in a car. One person got out, followed Haribabu and attacked him on the neck and head with a knife used for cutting coconuts,” the ACP said. The victim suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. His body was shifted to the Government General Hospital, Nizamabad, for postmortem examination. While police suspect old enmity to be the motive, they have launched an investigation to ascertain the facts. Investigators are also examining whether Haribabu’s killing was linked to the murder of his wife, Vaishnavi. On March 17, Vaishnavi, who ran a popular YouTube channel, ‘Vaishu Amma’, was found dead at her residence in Madhapur village of Korutla mandal, Jagtial, when she was four months pregnant. Her family alleged that Haribabu strangled her and attacked her with a knife following a heated argument between them the previous night.Based on a complaint by Vaishnavi’s father, police registered a murder case and arrested Haribabu after taking him into custody on the outskirts of Korutla.Police also booked his mother, Lakshmi, and brothers, Anand and Ashok, for alleged dowry harassment. Haribabu was subsequently released on bail in July.“We suspect Vaishnavi’s brothers’ involvement in this murder but are yet to establish it. We have booked a murder case and are probing all angles to establish the identity of the accused,” the ACP added.
