KTR, four others to appear before court in Formula E case today | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Nearly four months after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a chargesheet in the case of alleged diversion of Rs 55 crore to UK-based Formula E Organisation (FEO) in violation of laid-down procedure, former MAUD minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao, along with four other accused, is expected to appear before a Nampally court on Friday. This will be the first court appearance of the accused since the court took cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the ACB in March.Besides KTR, the other accused are former MAUD special chief secretary Arvind Kumar, former HMDA chief engineer BLN Reddy, FEO representative Alberto Longo, and ACE Nxt Gen director Kiran Rao.Earlier, ACB alleged that after ACE Nxt Gen withdrew as the sponsor for the second edition of the Formula E race in Hyderabad, KTR allegedly directed the state govt to take over the sponsorship of the event. Investigators allege that the decision was executed in violation of laid-down norms. The ACB has also alleged a quid pro quo arrangement between ACE Nxt Gen and the BRS. The case was registered in Dec 2024, and following a 15-month investigation, the bureau filed its chargesheet earlier this year.
