James Gunn reacts to Adria Arjona’s casting buzz
However, Gunn has now attempted to put the speculation surrounding Grillo’s post to rest. Responding to the actor’s repost on Threads, Gunn wrote, “It’s Frank reposting somebody because it has his photo in it and he loves himself. i can assure you Frank doesn’t know Adria is playing in the DCU and whether or not she has any sort of incredibly small cameo in MoT or not. People have been making wayyyyyyyy to much of this.”Gunn also shared a private exchange with Grillo, in which the actor appeared to clarify that he had no inside information about Arjona’s role.“I’m seriously not posting anymore. I saw that cool poster like 5 times so i reposted it. I honestly don’t know what’s what. no good deed goes unpunished. lol. sorry bubba,” Grillo wrote.
‘Lanterns’ finale sets up John Stewart’s future
The exchange comes amid heightened interest in the next phase of the DC Universe following the conclusion of the ‘Lanterns’ series, which established John Stewart and Guy Gardner within the franchise. The season finale of ‘Lanterns’ saw John Stewart make a major decision regarding his future as a Green Lantern by taking on Sinestro’s Lantern and Hal Jordan’s Power Ring for himself, choosing to become a Green Lantern who does not directly answer to the Guardians of the Universe.John subsequently explains his plans to Guy, and his intentions to protect Earth. The decision could reportedly have major implications for ‘Man of Tomorrow’, where John and Guy are both expected to play roles. The film will reportedly feature Brainiac as its central villain, potentially leaving Guy to deal with extraterrestrial threats while John focuses on Earth.John’s new position could also affect Guy’s place in the Justice Gang, the superhero team associated with businessman Maxwell Lord, played by Sean Gunn. With Lord expected to appear in future DCU projects, there is speculation that he could seek to recruit John as Guy’s replacement.
