Four Russian passports, one date: Telangana recruits’ documents reveal recruitment links | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Four Telangana men, four Russian passports, one issue date: Sept 25, 2026, and the same location. Documents accompanying their families’ petitions seeking their rescue point to Ulyanovsk as a possible common processing location for workers allegedly promised civilian jobs before being drawn into Russian military service. The passport copies of Mukkera Rajkumar, Potharaju Vijay Krishna, Dommati Kishan and Suppan Swamy name the same regional issuing authority, with their passport numbers falling within the same series. Rajkumar’s and Kishan’s files also contain military contracts dated Sept 25. These similarities suggest a possible shared processing route and a single recruitment network, while also raising questions about whether the men understood and voluntarily accepted military service. The complaints filed by Kishan’s and Swamy’s families name Muddula Bala Gangadhar of Bandalingapur in Jagtial district as an intermediary. Kishan’s petition also identifies Dharnam Srinu of Adithya Manpowers. Vijay Krishna’s mother names Dharma Srinivas, described as an agent from Nizamabad, with an identical telephone number. Whether these differently recorded names refer to the same person requires verification.Rajkumar’s file includes a notarised declaration dated Sept 25 concerning the renunciation of Indian citizenship following the stated acquisition of Russian citizenship. However, passport copies alone do not establish the circumstances of acquisition or conclusively settle the men’s Indian citizenship status. Edavelli Kanukaiah’s passport copy is dated Sept 22. His wife says he left in Feb after being promised civilian employment, but was not paid and was subsequently recruited into military service. She has named an agent, Thelu Krishna. Migrant rights activist Gangula Muralidhar Reddy told TOI: “Low civilian wages could leave them susceptible to military offers.”FX 2: The documentation trailPassport numbers clustered: The four September 25 RUssian passport copies carry serial numbers all under series 73 26.Military tags: Kishan’s file records CA-478947, Swamy’s CA-478948 and Rajkumar’s CA-478958.Bank account opened: Rajkumar’s file contains a PSB Bank account-opening confirmation dated September 25.Social insurance records: Rajkumar’s and Kishan’s files contain Russian SNILS registration documents; Kishan’s is dated September 25.Contract details: Kishan’s four-page military contract is described in an unofficial translation as covering an apparent one-year period, with provisions on military duties, discipline, benefits and combat operations.Indian passports allegedly taken: Kishan’s brother alleged that the men’s Indian passports were taken away and Russian documents issued. This remains a family allegation.ends
