He was later shifted to Sitapur jail, while his wife and son, who were also booked in cases, were released earlier.<span class="id-r-component br" data-pos="21"/>According to police records, Khan has been named as an accused in 111 criminal cases, including those related to forgery and land encroachment. Final reports have been filed in seven cases, one case resulted in his discharge, and nine were withdrawn by the Samajwadi Party government. He was convicted in six cases but has since secured bail in all of them.
