Did Diljit Dosanjh take a jibe at CJP for comments on his film 'Satluj'? Abhijeet Dipke responds - WATCH

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh took to the stage in New Delhi on Friday, for his Aura India Tour concert. Besides rocking the stage and belting out his hit tracks, the singer also went viral for his comments which were perceived to be a dig at the CJP.Addressing the backlash over his “I’m an artist,” remark, Dosanjh seemingly took a swipe at those who allegedly mocked his film ‘Satluj’ during the protests in Delhi, over his decision to steer clear of politics.Addressing the audience, Diljit said, “I love all of you because I am an artist, bro. I am being quiet, so let me stay quiet. I support all of you. But don’t teach Punjabis how to fight.”He then addressed the alleged digs at his film, saying, “The film you are making fun of on stage, Jaswant Singh Khalra’s film, we fought for that film for a long time. I love all of you. If someone hates us, it’s okay. But I love all of you.”The singer further asserted that Punjabis did not need lessons from anyone on standing up for a cause, saying, “Punjabion ko naa sikhaao kaise ladayiaan ladi jaati hain” (Do not teach Punjabis how to fight battles).Although Diljit did not take any names, following the videos going viral, Abhijeet Dipke of the CJP, took to his social media account and shared a lengthy note addressed to the singer and titled it as ‘To Diljit Paaji’. In his post, Dipke wrote, “Paaji, back in June, when we were protesting, I was a little hurt by your comment. Not because I had anything against you personally, but because I’ve always seen you as someone who speaks up for the cause, just like you said yourself.“He added, “If anything, I’ve always been an admirer of yours, and that hasn’t changed. I still listen to your music. In fact, I came to your concert in Chicago this May, just before returning to India, not just for your music, but because I’ve always had immense respect for the person you are. Your courage, your authenticity, and the way you’ve taken India to the global stage while staying so true to your roots are things I’ve always admired about you. And I guess that’s why the comment hurt a little, because I’ve always held you in such high regard.”“But one disagreement or misunderstanding doesn’t change the respect and admiration I have for you. Baaki paaji, chhota bhai samajh ke mitti pao.”He also shared a selfie from the Chicago concert that he attended with friends and concluded the note saying, “Gabru ta vairi nu vi mitha bolda, ni tu ta ferr jatt da pyar goriye,” he further wrote.Early this year, Diljit addressed the controversy surrounding his decision to stay away from the student protests. His remarks had drawn criticism from members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), including its leader Abhijeet Dipke, who had questioned his stance, particularly in the context of his association with politically charged projects such as ‘Satluj’, based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.Diljit also spoke about how he viewed the criticism during an Instagram Live session, making it clear that he was not bothered by those attempting to create negativity around him.The singer on Friday, kicked off his tour at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital on Friday, with tight security arrangements in place. Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium, warning of traffic restrictions on Bhishma Pitamah Marg between Lodhi Road and Kotla Red Light. The Delhi Police have also urged concert-goers to use the metro, citing the proximity of JLN Stadium Metro Station and the lack of parking facilities at the venue. While talking to ANI, DCP Traffic Southern Range Sandeep Gupta said, “There are no parking available at the arena, which is why we’ve requested people to come mostly by the metro. JLN Stadium metro station is very close by. Otherwise, if they’re coming in their own vehicle or by cab, they can utilise the pickup and drop-off points. These pickup and drop points have been conveyed to Ola, Uber, and Google Maps.”He added, “Whenever they search for JLN Stadium, they have to feed their gate numbers, and as per the gate number, the nearest pickup and drop-off location will be shown on Ola, Uber, and Google. Apart from that, we request people not to park their vehicles randomly on the road, whether on BP Marg, Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, or on Barapullah, because these are the main carriageways from where people will come.”Following the Delhi show, the India leg of the tour will move to Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lucknow. Chandigarh will also be part of the tour, with details of the show to be announced later. (
