The vandalism of Charlie Kirk’s newly unveiled memorial statue has sparked another question, this time from conservative commentator Candace Owens. While Turning Point Action has condemned the incident and said it is working with law enforcement, Owens is pressing the organisation for more concrete details about what its security cameras captured and whether that information could help identify those responsible.

The eight-foot statue was unveiled outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 10, marking one year since Kirk was killed during a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University. The memorial was covered in red paint, while a nearby tribute sign was also defaced. Phoenix police confirmed officers responded to reports of vandalism and asked anyone with information to come forward.Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bowyer shared photographs of the damage and described the perpetrators as “radical criminals.” The organisation said it plans to restore the statue and replace the damaged signs. It also said surveillance footage was being reviewed as part of efforts to identify those responsible.That last point appears to be what caught Owens’ attention. In a post on X, she questioned why more information from the surveillance footage had not been made public.“Has Turning Point shared any video or provided any details regarding a vehicle description of who drove up to their heavily-surveilled campus and threw paint? Was it a male or a female? One person or two?All I’m seeing is them promoting Turning Point Action and blaming the Left.How about just provide some more basic information regarding what was captured on your cameras so people can try to help find the perpetrator?”Owens’ post focuses less on the political reaction to the vandalism and more on the practical details that could assist an investigation. Charlie Kirk statue vandalism remains under investigation
The incident has attracted strong reactions because of the location and timing. The statue had only recently been installed as a tribute to Kirk, who was fatally shot at a campus event in Utah on September 10, 2025. The vandalism occurred just days after the memorial was unveiled.Red paint was reportedly placed across parts of the statue, including Kirk’s face and neck. A nearby memorial display was also targeted. Turning Point said the damage would be repaired and that it was cooperating with law enforcement.Police have not publicly identified a suspect in connection with the vandalism.
