Brics Summit: DGCA disallows flying activities in 7 northern states this weekend
DGCA has directed all flying training organisations (FTO) across seven north Indian states near Delhi

NEW DELHI: As part of enhanced security for the BRICS summit in Delhi, the DGCA has directed all flying training organisations (FTO) across seven north Indian states near Delhi — Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal — to not have any activity from Friday morning till late Sunday night. Also for 52 hours starting Friday morning, “operations of light/ micro-light aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles and similar long-range aerial vehicles (have been) prohibited within a radius of 300 Km from Delhi.”In a note titled “enhanced security measures during BRICS summit-2026” sent to all FTOs earlier this week, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said “restrictions are imposed on flying activities of all FTOs from Friday 7 am Friday to Sunday 11 pm.”
