Hyderabad: BJP MLA and deputy floor leader Payal Shankar on Wednesday sought governor Shiv Pratap Shukla’s intervention in resolving land-related issues faced by tribal families in Adilabad district. Shankar, along with tribal families, met Shukla at Lok Bhavan and submitted a representation seeking house-site pattas for eligible families living in Komuram Bheem Colony in Battisavargam village of Mavala mandal.He said around 500 tribal families have been living on Survey No. 72 for nearly 30 years without recognised house-site pattas, affecting their access to welfare schemes, electricity and safe drinking water. Shukla assured them that he would take up the issue with state govt and work towards resolving it, Shankar said. The BJP MLA said that if govt failed to resolve the issue within a month, he would organise a protest outside the secretariat along with 2,000 families.
