AIG Hospitals to invest ₹2,000 crore in 1,000-bed multispecialty healthcare campus in Visakhapatnam | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: AIG Hospitals is setting up a 1,000-bed greenfield multispeciality healthcare campus combining advanced clinical care, education and research over 11.5 acres in Visakhapatnam at an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, marking its first foray outside Hyderabad.The project, the foundation stone for which was laid on Monday by Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh and AIG chairman Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, will be developed in two phases with the first phase slated to open by Oct 2028.Phase one will include Towers A and B with 650 beds while Tower C will add 350 beds over the next two to three years, AIG said. The campus will also house a nursing college, paramedic training centre, research laboratory, AI centre and 500-seat auditorium. While the hospital facilities will come up over nine acres, the nursing facilities will be set up on 2.5 acres.Dr Nageshwar Reddy said the research and academic facilities were integral to the hospital’s design, aimed at creating a future-ready healthcare ecosystem.The hospital will offer more than 50 specialities, modular operating rooms, cath labs, endoscopy suites, 150 critical-care beds and a 50-bed emergency department, with outpatient capacity of 5,000 daily consultations.A 120-bed mother and child block will include neonatal intensive care and birthing suites. At full scale, the facility is expected to employ 9,000 people and have 1,000 doctors on its rolls.
