MEA urged to rescue Hyderabad woman from Sharjah

Hyderabad: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan has sought the intervention of the Union external affairs minister to bring back a Telangana woman from Sharjah who is allegedly being subjected to severe physical and mental abuse by her husband. The woman, who is eight months pregnant with her fourth child, was allegedly assaulted on Sept 7 and 8. Her father, Mohammed Abdul Nayeem Shakeel, has appealed for assistance to ensure the safe return of his daughter and her three children to India. He said the matter should be treated as urgent, given her advanced stage of pregnancy.“A resident of Tolichowki, Hyderabad, has approached me seeking urgent help to save his daughter, Sumayya Siddiqua, who is presently in Sharjah, UAE,” Khan posted on X. “The family has alleged that she was severely assaulted on Sept 7 and 8, including an incident in which her head was allegedly hit against a wall, causing bleeding from her ear and nose and resulting in her losing consciousness. I humbly request you to kindly intervene urgently and direct the @IndembAbuDhabi and @cgidubai to contact and assist her,” he further posted. Khan urged the Union minister to ensure the woman’s safety and coordinate with the UAE authorities to provide her with necessary protection.
