Apollo Hospitals appoints Upasana Konidela as director of projects | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals on Thursday said it has appointed Upasana Kamineni Konidela as director of projects to helm planning and delivery of hospital projects as the group embarks on its Rs 8,600 crore expansion programme across India.Based in Hyderabad, Konidela will work with Apollo’s leadership, clinicians and project partners on new hospitals, brownfield expansions and upgrades to existing facilities.Apollo Hospitals said she will focus on improving patient-facing design standards, clearer signage and wayfinding, simpler navigation, more efficient clinical spaces and greater comfort for patients and families from design through commissioning. She will also support stronger reporting and coordination across projects.Apollo has already announced plans to invest ₹1,565 crore in listed brownfield projects and capacity additions in established markets as well as facilities in growing urban centres such as Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati and Ranchi. However, Apollo did not divulge the specifics of projects and budgets within Upasana’s mandate.Upasana Konidela said the role continues the vision of her grandfather, Apollo founder Dr Prathap C Reddy, that world-class healthcare should be within reach of people in India.She said hospital design should help patients find their way easily, support families and enable doctors and nurses to deliver care.
