Hyderabad: Laddu auctions across Hyderabad’s gated communities continued to fetch bids running into lakhs as the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival neared, with My Home Mangala in Kondapur recording the highest bid so far at ₹21.11 lakh.Sambasiva Rao and Naveen jointly won the laddu at the auction for ₹21.11 lakh. Ch Sriramireddy, president of My Home Mangala Resident Welfare Association, said the community’s growing resident base had contributed to the sharp rise in the bid.“Last year, the winning bid was lower because the community had just started. Now, the community has expanded and more residents are participating in the auction,” he said.Other high-value auctions included Raghupathi County in Pragathinagar, where the laddu fetched ₹13.66 lakh, and Devisthan Homes in Kukatpally, where the winning bid was ₹10.05 lakh.Lansum Etania in Rajendranagar recorded a bid of ₹13.56 lakh, while Rainbow Vistas Phase 1 saw its laddu auctioned for ₹7.5 lakh and My Home Ankura for ₹6.79 lakh. Cybercity Marina Skies recorded ₹3.5 lakh and Rainbow Vistas Rock Garden ₹4.11 lakh.At Lansum Etania, the kalasham fetched ₹3.3 lakh and the vastram ₹4.68 lakh, said Ravi Shanker, president of the Federation of Gated Communities Cyberabad (FGCC).Meanwhile, Tellapur Residents Welfare Association president Ramana Eshwaragiri said around 25-26 communities had opted for eco-friendly celebrations, conducting in-house immersion and segregating waste for composting instead of sending it to dumpsites.The Balapur laddu auction will take place on the final day of the festival.
