Three workers killed as truck rams stationary scrap vehicle on ORR | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A routine tyre change on the Outer Ring Road turned fatal early Saturday when a truck rammed a stationary scrap-carrying vehicle near Shamirpet, killing three workers. The truck driver allegedly fled the scene after the crash, police said.According to the complaint, the incident occurred around midnight near Leonia Footover Bridge. Ismail Hussain, 26, along with labourers Rinku, Ibrahim, Ashok and Bhim Sha, was travelling from Chegunta towards Keesara with a load of scrap.After taking Exit 6 towards Shamirpet, the vehicle’s right rear tyre punctured about 300 metres beyond the bridge. The workers pulled over in the emergency lane and began changing the tyre.Rinku and Ibrahim were using a jack rod to remove the punctured tyre, while Ismail was underneath the vehicle, using a torch to assist them. Ashok and Bhim Sha had moved away to collect stones to support the vehicle.At around 12.35 am, a truck allegedly being driven rashly approached from behind and crashed into the stationary vehicle. The impact left Rinku, Ibrahim and Ismail with severe bleeding injuries. Rinku and Ismail died on the spot, while Ibrahim was shifted to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.Bhim Sha, who was at the scene, reportedly told police that he saw the truck driver, who identified himself as Nagaraju, a resident of Miyapur. Nagaraju allegedly fled the scene following the accident, officials said.Shamirpet police registered a case based on the complaint and launched an investigation into the crash and the whereabouts of the truck driver.
