BJP seeks probe into land irregularities under BRS, Congress | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday demanded a comprehensive probe into alleged land irregularities during the BRS and Congress govts, including the alleged misuse of Section 22-A to place private properties on the prohibited list.Addressing a media conference in New Delhi, Rao said the allegations made by chief minister A Revanth Reddy in the assembly about land irregularities under the previous BRS govt and those surrounding Section 22-A under the present govt should both be investigated.Rao referred to Revanth’s statement in the assembly that around 500 acres had allegedly been taken over during the BRS govt and sought a probe into the claim. He also alleged that private lands were being targeted under the guise of Section 22-A restrictions under the Congress govt and demanded an impartial inquiry.He sought details of the assets held by Revanth Reddy and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao before entering politics and their present assets, saying the public should get clarity through election affidavits.Rao said any inquiry into land irregularities should cover both govts and not be confined to the previous regime.He said the BJP would contest the next election alone and would not enter into an alliance with any party. If the govt failed to conduct an inquiry, the BJP would initiate a comprehensive probe after coming to power and take action against those found responsible, he said.Rao alleged that both BRS and Congress govts had failed to adequately address public-interest issues and instead focused on political and family interests.
