Status: Not ApprovedHEAD: 24_Hyd_AT_unlisted_dundigal murderByline: Ajay TomarMother allegedly killed two month old infant at construction camp in hyderabadHyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 2-month-old infant boy was allegedly killed by his mother at a construction workers’ camp in Bowrampet on Tuesday morning under Dundigal Police Station.According to the police, Rajendra Adivasi (21) and his wife Mamata Ahirwar (20), natives of Madhya Pradesh, worked as labourers at the Sanarelli Apartments construction site in Bowrampet and stayed in a temporary camp room there with their infant son.The incident came to light when Rajendra returned from work around the afternoon and allegedly found his wife burning the baby in a wood-fired stove. He attempted to intervene, but the child already died, police said. “Preliminary investigation shows that Mamata was distressed as the baby cried frequently and decided to kill him. She first stuffed cloth into the infant’s mouth to stop the crying, tied his legs, and then placed him in the stove, leading to the child’s death on the spot,” said Ch Shankar Reddy, ACP Medchal.On receiving information, the Dundigal Police Station team reached the scene and took custody of the body. Based on a complaint filed by the father, a case was registered under BNS Section 103 (murder), and the accused mother was taken into custody.
