One dead, 5 injured as car rams into 2 bikes in Ghatkesar | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man died and five others sustained injuries when a car collided with two bikes near a college in Ghatkesar on Monday night. The incident occurred at around 8 pm in front of Vignan’s Institute of Management and Technology for Women College in Kondapur, Ghatkesar. The deceased was identified as Arun, a native of Madhya Pradesh.According to police officials, Arun, along with Umesh, Pradeep and Srujan, all migrant workers from Madhya Pradesh, were engaged in painting work at the college. The four went to a market in Ghatkesar on a bike on Monday evening. The accident occurred when they were returning to the campus.“A Mahindra XUV coming from Keesara towards Ghatkesar collided head-on with the bike. They fell on the road and sustained bleeding injuries. The same car then rammed into another bike and injured two others. Arun succumbed to injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the Gandhi Hospital. The remaining victims are out of danger,” Ghatkesar SI A Sekhar said.Based on a complaint lodged by Arun’s co-worker, N Ranjit, police registered a case against the accused R Venugopal, a software professional from Ghatkesar, under Sections 106 (1) (causing death due to negligence) and 125 (a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS. The accused allegedly abandoned the car a kilometre away from the spot and fled. He was apprehended on Tuesday, and a breathalyser test did not indicate that he was under the influence of alcohol, the SI further said.
