Hyderabad: With over 30 lakh devotees expected to visit the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh during the 10-day festival, Hyderabad traffic police have announced traffic diversions, designated parking areas and pedestrian routes to manage the rush around the idol.Joint commissioner of police (Traffic) D Joel Davis, along with DCP Traffic Avinash Kumar, additional DCP A Ramulu, ACP Traffic S Mohan Kumar and other senior officials, inspected the primary routes and access roads around Khairatabad on Saturday and issued traffic advisories for devotees and motorists.Vehicles will not be allowed towards Rajdoot Lane and Dwarka Hotel and will be diverted towards Telephone Bhavan. Vehicles entering Mint Lane will be diverted towards the Secretariat, while traffic passing IMAX Theatre will be diverted towards Necklace Road or Khairatabad Flyover instead of Bada Ganesh. Traffic from Rajiv Gandhi Statue towards the railway crossing will be diverted towards Nirankari.Parking has been designated at IMAX Ground, HMDA Lake View Parking and the E-Racing Ground behind NTR Park on the NTR Marg side. Maktha parking on Necklace Road will be used if the primary parking areas are full. Parking will also be available at Visweswarayya Bhavan, while only limited parking will be available near Telephone Bhavan.Auto-rickshaws, Ola and Uber vehicles will have to use the open ground adjacent to the MMTS station for pick-up and drop-off, as stopping on the main carriageway between VV Statue, Khairatabad and Nirankari causes congestion.Metro passengers have been advised to exit towards the Bada Ganesh/pandal side rather than the Seven Temples side. Separate entry and exit queues have been arranged, with pedestrians barred from the main carriageway. Crossings will be allowed only at Khairatabad Junction, Shadan U-turn and Nirankari.Around 500 police personnel, along with pushing teams, will be deployed at key junctions. Metro services will run from 6am to 11pm, with special RTC buses also being operated. Darshan will conclude on September 23, with no darshan on September 24.
