'They are inconveniencing common public': Yogi Adityanath slams INDIA bloc for 'blaming EC when they lose'
The chief minister’s remarks came as the INDIA bloc prepared to hold a protest march to the Supreme Court on Monday.

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday slammed the Congress and the INDIA bloc amid their planned protest march against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, saying “it is surprising that if they win elections, it is their capability, but if they lose, they blame EVMs, EC.“Speaking to ANI, Adityanath urged the opposition to change its conduct and leadership, alleging that its response to election results reflected a lack of trust in constitutional bodies.“They are inconveniencing the common public by creating anarchy. They are also attempting to question the constitutional institutions of the country. It is surprising that if they win elections, it is their capability. But if they lose, they blame EVMs, EC,” he said.“Such conduct has become part of Congress’ intent. They should change their corrupt conduct and their distrustful leadership. They should not spread anarchy in India or attempt to question the constitutional bodies in India,” he added. The UP chief minister further warned that people would not tolerate such actions for long and said the Congress could face political consequences if it continued with the same approach.“People will not accept this anarchy, they will not tolerate this for long. If they continue like this, they will have to lose whatever they are left with,” he added.Adityanath’s remarks came as the INDIA bloc prepared to hold a protest march to the Supreme Court on Monday. Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi called on students, civil society organisations and opposition parties to join the march.“12th October, India marches peacefully as one to the Supreme Court. Students, civil society organisations, opposition parties: Please join us to defend our democracy,” Rahul had earlier said. The Congress MP had announced the protest alleging that Delhi Police personnel and BJP workers had used violence against students and women during a protest led by CJP. The protest had demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
