Hyderabad: Former Bihar deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday accused the BJP and RSS of dividing people on religious lines and alleged that they were attempting to divide even gods. He asserted that the Yadav community would not tolerate attempts to insult Lord Krishna and would resist those making controversial remarks about the deity.Participating in the annual Sadar Sammelan organised by the Sri Krishna Sadar Sammelan Utsav Committee at NTR Stadium in Hyderabad, Tejashwi condemned the recent remarks by Bageshwar Dham chief Dhirendra Krishna Shastri on Lord Krishna. Mockingly referring to Shastri as Thugeshwar Shastri, he alleged that such figures were acting at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Calling upon the Yadav community to teach Shastri a lesson if he visited Telangana, Tejashwi said they would respond similarly in Bihar. He alleged Modi and Shah were trying to scare them by sending his father and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad to jail. He claimed that jail was like a temple for them as it was the birthplace of Lord Krishna and that they would never surrender to injustice. He pointed out that even at his advanced age, Lalu Prasad had to attend court hearings regularly.Accusing the BJP and Amit Shah of attempting to crush democracy and change the Constitution, Tejashwi said his party would work to protect constitutional values and democracy. He called upon people to unite against the BJP and RSS.The RJD leader also highlighted the cultural significance of the Sadar festival and said the Yadav community stood for truth and justice. He expressed gratitude to Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy for organising the Sadar Sammelan officially and according state recognition to the traditional festival.Tejashwi shared the dais with Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy and deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka of the Congress, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav from Bihar, Samajwadi Party MPs Dharmendra Yadav and Akshay Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, former MP Lal Singh from Jammu & Kashmir, and several other leaders.Later, speaking to media persons, Tejashwi launched a sharp attack on the Bihar govt, describing it as corrupt and alleging that the state was being run by a completely ineffective chief minister. He claimed that crime had increased alarmingly in Bihar and alleged that there was no district in the state where at least 200 rounds of firing did not take place daily. Criminals were calling the shots, while incidents of police firing at innocent people were also being reported, he alleged.Questioning the functioning of the state govt, Tejashwi said the deteriorating law and order situation reflected the failure of the chief minister and raised concerns over the safety of ordinary people.
