Task Force raids unauthorised clinics across city, nabs 12 fake doctors | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: Task Force sleuths have arrested 12 persons for posing as doctors and operating unauthorised clinics at different places in the city.According to deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Task Force, Vaibhav Gaikwad, the accused were operating unregistered clinics and treating patients with intravenous drips, injections and even administering sutures despite lacking appropriate medical qualifications.In Madhura Nagar, police raided Sri Aqua First Aid Centre and arrested D Rama Shekar Reddy, 43, operator of an adjoining pharmacy, and Ragam Sudhakar, 38, a diploma-holder in anaesthesia technology who posed as a doctor. They were charging Rs 200 per consultation and treating up to 50 patients daily.A separate raid at First Aid Centre in the same area led to the arrest of Mirudoddy Bharathi, 44, a former paramedic who had been treating patients, including children, without a licence. In Venkatagiri area of Jubilee Hills, Katika Mahesh Rao, 43, a graduate with no medical background, was caught operating an unnamed clinic. In Film Nagar, Panuganti Bala Narasimha, 52, was arrested for running Sai Tirumala Clinic under his MBBS graduate daughter’s name while he himself treated patients. In Borabanda, Md Abdul Vali, 54, a former lab technician, was arrested for running a clinic near a vegetable market.Police also raided Family Clinic in Chilakalguda and arrested Nilagiri Prasad, 40, who had earlier worked as a compounder in Eluru and also obtained a degree in Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS). “But he has been operating the clinic posing as a general and children specialist with a fake MBBS degree,” the DCP said.Another raid was carried out at Samdani Clinic in Nallagutta. The accused, Adan Samdan, 23, completed intermediate (BiPC). He has been operating Samdani Clinic for the past four years while posing as a dermatologist. “He was using a self-made concoction of petroleum gel, calcium powder and zinc oxide for psoriasis treatment,” Task Force inspector J Raja Sekhar said.Police also raided Sai Ram Clinic at Lower Tank Bund and arrested M Srinivas, 51, a BSc (BZC) graduate with six years of experience as a compounder in Jangaon, for operating the clinic by posing as a doctor. In Chilakalguda, police raided Sai Ram Clinic and arrested P Sadanand, 52, for treating patients while posing as a doctor. Sadanand completed class 10 and worked as a compounder at various hospitals in the city before launching his own clinic in 2024.A BA graduate, Ch Ramesh (45), with seven years experience as a compounder, started Sarojini Poly Clinic at Manikeswar Nagar three years ago. Posing as a general physician, he was treating patients for common ailments. Another BA graduate, S Lingaiah, 57, who had worked as a compounder, has been operating Surya Clinic for 15 years at Manikeswara Nagar. He was also arrested.“The accused are treating innocent patients by prescribing medicines, giving injections, IV drips. So far, no complaints from patients have come to our notice but we will look at the history of the accused,” the inspector said. The seized medical apparatus and medicines were handed over to the concerned law and order police for further probe.
