Syneos Health opens its largest Asia life sciences and tech hub in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: US-based biopharma company Syneos Health opened a new global life sciences and technology centre in Hyderabad on Wednesday.Spread across 1.37 lakh sq ft, the facility is the company’s largest in Asia and third largest globally. Syneos Health plans to initially hire more than 700 people at the centre, with scope for future expansion.The company said the Hyderabad facility will function as a strategic growth hub rather than a traditional delivery centre, housing global leaders and multidisciplinary teams supporting drug development and commercialisation for customers worldwide.The centre will bring together clinical development, commercialisation, medical affairs, AI, technology capabilities and corporate functions, said a release from the office of Telangana IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu.Inaugurating the facility, Sridhar Babu said Syneos’ entry means Hyderabad now hosts four of the world’s top five contract research organisations.“Hyderabad has built one of India’s strongest life sciences ecosystems and one of its deepest technology talent pools. The next opportunity is to bring these strengths together with AI,” he said.Pointing out that Hyderabad already accounts for an estimated 20-23% of India’s healthcare-biotech global capability centres market, he said the city’s ecosystem spans APIs, bulk drugs, generics, CDMO, vaccines, research and discovery, along with a growing base of global healthcare and biotech GCCs, positioning Hyderabad as a global testbed for AI-enabled life sciences.Syneos Health’s head of operational excellence, Tom Wollman, said India has been an important part of the company’s global organisation, and the new facility will help shape its future direction.Jinu Jose, general manager, India and strategic growth hubs at Syneos Health, said the centre will serve as a hub where global leaders, clinical and commercial experts, technologists and innovators work to shape the future of healthcare and deliver better outcomes for biopharmaceutical customers.
